We would love you to join our Playgroup!
We welcome mums, dads, grandparents, foster carers, aunties, uncles, carers, anyone who would like to bring your little person to playgroup. All our sessions are age appropriate and go for 2 hours in our well equipped hall.
We have amazing resources including kids kitchen and dolls, huge foam building blocks, slides, sandpits, bikes, balls, ball pit, swings, a huge assortment of blocks including wooden, lego and duplo, lots of books, cars, trains, rollercoaster, dollhouse, climbing structures, trucks, parachutes, puzzles, arts and craft supplies, music and the list goes on and on!!!
We offer 4 sessions a day Monday to Friday.
AM - 9am - 11am
Lunch - 11am - 1pm
PM - 1pm - 3pm
Late - 3pm - 5pm
We try to keep each session age appropriate however siblings are always welcome so some groups have a variety of ages.
Our sessions are run by the parents in the group and do not have a facilitator.
Some existing groups have room for new families to join others are already quite large. There are empty slots that can accommodate existing groups.
Our fee structure is as follows:
Membership fee - $120 a year
Toy Levy - $25 a year due in Febuary or upon commencement of membership
Playgroup Victoria Membership - $40 a year. May be purchased online here, please advise membership secretary of you membership number.
Payment plans may be negotiated with the treasurer (not applicable to Playgroup Victoria membership fee).
Our toy levy is to provide new resources and toys each year for the children of New Gisborne Playgroup. This levy was introduced to omit the need for fundraising. Although there is an occasional fundraising event such as family portraits, this money contributes to the cost of our fantastic family Christmas party at the end of the year.
Each group is expected to clean up after their session, this means vacum the floors, wipe down kitchen and tables and put away toys neatly.
Roughly once a month each group will have to complete a daily clean which consists of the regular cleaning plus cleaning the bathrooms and mopping the floors.
We implemented this cleaning system to keep our membership costs to a minimum while still ensuring a clean environment for our members.
Each group is also required to have one member attend each committee meeting, held at the hall every 6 weeks. Each group is to also have 2 members attend the Annual general meeting held in November.
We also ask that members utilise the communication book in the kitchen to advise of any maintenance or any other messges if not urgent. If it is urgent a list of committee members can be found in the kitchen.
